A critical
coverage often overlooked when transferring employees and their
families to a foreign country is insurance for their household
goods, personal effects and personal liability in their new
residence.
Employees will often have difficulty finding this coverage without
guidance. Should they find access the local insurance market, they
could encounter unfamiliar and restrictive policy terms and
conditions. Pricing varies greatly and the policies are normally
written in the country’s native language.
The result is that employees frequently do not purchase coverage
leaving their valuable possession uninsured. In the event of theft,
fire, earthquake or other catastrophic event it’s common for the
employee to look to their employer for reimbursement.
Unirisc’s Executives Abroad program fills this coverage gap. The
employer can participate financially at any level they wish in
assuring that the employee obtains coverage. They may pay for all,
part or none of the premium. The employee may pay their proportion
of the premium by personal check, MasterCard or Visa for their
convenience.
